Well, there is actually a really moving story behind the name...

It started as a long-time idea that was brought into reality after dealing with a life‑threatening illness.

 

Peter Salter opened in 2013 with a passion and drive for a pure, organic salon for everyone’s hair in everyday living, providing healthier choices and healthier lifestyles.

 

The name Peter Salter came from our founder, Tammy Carter. Her two sons’ middle names are ‘Peter’ and ‘Salter,’ so the name holds a lot of meaning for Greg & Christy and is now a living memory for them, as Tammy passed away in 2015.

 

For many years, Christy and Greg carried Tammy’s vision forward, nurturing the salon as a haven for healthy, organic hair care and constantly seeking ways to improve products and ingredients. Their dedication built the strong foundation we stand on today.

In recent years, Liz has been managing the salon with that same passion for people, products, and sustainability.

 

In 2025, Liz and her husband took ownership, carrying the torch into a new era. Their commitment is not only to preserve the legacy of Peter Salter but also to grow it, blending tradition with fresh energy, innovation, and care.

 

At its heart, Peter Salter remains more than a salon. It is a community built on trust, creativity, and a belief in healthier choices for everyday living. Liz and the team are proud to continue this journey, honoring the past while shaping a future that is just as inspiring.
