Salon Owners - Christy & Greg

People often ask "where did the name Peter Salter come from?"

Well there is actually a really moving story behind the name...

It started as a long-time idea that got brought into reality after dealing with a life-threatening illness.

Peter Salter opened in 2013 with a passion and drive for a pure, organic salon for everyone’s hair in everyday living, providing healthier choices and healthier lifestyles.

The name Peter Salter came from our founder Tammy Carter. Her two son’s middle names are ‘Peter’ and ‘Salter’ so the name holds a lot of meaning for Greg & Christy and is now a living memory for them as Tammy passed away in 2015.

Today, Christy and Greg don’t just keep the vision of a

'healthy and organic hair haven’ alive but they also seek for continuous improvement in products and ingredients.

While working in IT and Finance roles, Christy & Greg are the accounting & creative brain behind Peter Salter and have a huge passion for organic hair care & sustainability.

The French products from

Our Partnership

Peter Salter started a partnership with Sustainable Salons in 2019.

The thought behind this was, to now also think about the amount of waste a salon creates and how to "recycle" this in a better way.

Liz Erasmus
Salon Manager Greenhithe & Silverdale & Senior Stylist

Liz has been in the industry since 2010 and has a great passion for creativity which certainly is a must when it comes to hairdressing.

She is such an asset to the Peter Salter Team because what inspires Liz most about hairdressing is her clients. She loves getting to know them, being able to give them a listening ear and making them feel new again.

Quote "There is nothing better than a happy client".

Not only is client care of great importance to Liz but she is also highly skilled in all things hair, especially 'the classics', short cuts and a great cut and colour that you will love 6 weeks after your appointment.

Jen Fenton
Senior Stylist - On Maternity Leave until august 2022

Jen started her hairdressing career in 2007 and has worked internationally as well as passing 23 additional qualifications within hairdressing. It is safe to say that she loves and breathes the industry.

Jen has found her special passion in colour correction – but also – needless to say – in blonde tones and styles.

Since March 2020 Jen has also become an International Organic Master Colourist along with only 7 others in New Zealand! Education has always played a huge part in keeping her inspired but most importantly it benefits her clients - being able to offer them something different.

Besides all that Jen also cuts hair for the homeless at Auckland City Mission with Sustainable Salons and was able to participate at the International Homeless Day in 2019.
